For weeks now KBR has been testing an ASA Super Late Model with driver Terry Horak.  Horak has been with KBR for years now and has done some impressive things so far.  He has ran two seasons of Thunder Roadster and two seasons of Pro Challenge, and along the way has had several poles and became a feature winner in the Pro Challenge.  Horak will be running at Speed Weeks in New Smyrna Florida and plans on a full tour in the ASA Southeast Series.  Terry is no stranger to running an intense schedule like this one, in past years he has ran at Orlando Speedworld in speed weeks, and competed and won the rookie of the year status for the Carolinas Region of Pro Challenge.  Horak has become a good friend to the KBR family and we all can’t wait to get the 2009 season under way.

Stroupe Takes Semi Pro Win

Zach Stroupe walked away with the big Semi Pro win at Lowes Motor Speedway under Kyle Beattie Racing.  Zach owned the track in the #84 Copper Sedan, leading most of the race then pulling away at the end.  Both Stroupe boys came to KBR a couple months ago and brought home 3 wins and a couple top 5 finishes.  Little brother Nick brought home the Young Lions’ win last week.  KBR is very excited to have both boys on the team with their positive attitudes and willingness to learn.

Steve Carter finished 5th, adding to his personal best at LMS on Saturday in the Masters division.  After running 4th all race it came down to the end with Carter and Eddie Harwell.  Carter was all smiles when he climbed out of his #96 ABS Masters Machine.

Three Wins In Two Days

Kyle Beattie Racing took home three wins in two days.  Saturday was the first Winter Heat race at Lowes Motor Speedway. The Beattie crew took seven cars out to the speedway on Saturday and came away with two wins.  The first win was Young Lions driver Nick Stroupe and the second win was Thunder Car driver Jesse Bunnell.  Bunnell walked away with the Winter Heat Championship last year.  Steve Carter finished second in the Thunder Car race and an impressive sixth place in the Masters feature.  In a loaded Young Lions race Beattie Racing brought out two new racers; Cody Humphreys and Chris Young.  Both did great gaining a lot of valuable expierence.

On Sunday Kyle Beattie took the long drive to Southern National Speedway.  Beattie pulled outside pole for the start of the race.  The Legends only had two rounds of practice and didn't get to have time trails or heat races.  With a caution infested race, Beattie held the drivers off, almost leading all 30 laps.  The race only had three laps left when the 7th caution came out.  After the restart, another caution came.  Beattie finished first as the yellow and checkered flag dropped infront of his Pro ABS #96 Legends Car machine.

Causey Racing gives a 1 - 2 punch

The moon was full and the track was ready, Causey Racing drivers Rette Causey and Casey Wyatt started 2nd and 3rd on the grid, but the 2 Legends drivers delivered a 1 - 2 punch to the field on Saturday night. After falling back to 6th place Rette Causey raced back to 4th behind the #08 and #17, as the 2 went side by side into turn 1, Rette kept his head when they made contact and spun in front of him. Now with Wyatt and Causey fighting for the top spot, the 2 drivers had a huge lead on the rest of the field. Coming to the checkered flag, Rette tried one last time but could not get passed his teammate Casey Wyatt. Rette picked up two 2nd place finishes over the weekend, as he was at Southside Speedway on Friday and placed one spot behind the leader. Casey Wyatt picked up the victory for Causey Racing.
