Causey Family makes National News
We are very proud of little Macy Causey. Macy is Rette’s #1 fan always wanting to watch and learn from her Dad. Macy got a bando for her 8th birthday. By this time I am sure you saw Macy’s article in The New York Times, and saw the quiet little girl on The Today’s Show with her proud, encouraging parents just beaming in the background.

Brandon McKenzie
Brandon McKenzie moved to KBR this spring and hasn’t looked back. Now On Saturday at Caraway Kyle brought out his new KBR Coupe. Beattie walked away with the heat race, but had some issues during the caution free 25 lap race.
KBR Sweeps East Coast
It all started Friday when KBR took the dirt with the SKE Karts at Riverside Raceway in Mayodan, NC. With six karts on the team, we were the strongest out there. Nick Tucker took an early lead at the “Little Bristol” track and walked away with the win.
On Saturday KBR split up in several teams and headed out to different race track across the east coast. Tucker was looking for his second win during the weekend in Ohio at 339 Speedway. After the long drive, Nick was the fastest kart there hands down. He easily took home the win with a straight away lead. Nick had a great weekend racing twice and winning twice.
Adam Welch stayed close to home to compete at Concord Motorsport Park in his #71 machine Adam Welch Customs, Kyle Beattie Racing Thunder Car. Adam Welch won his fourth race in a row at the speedway after starting on the pole, qualifying with a speed of over 103 mph and leading all thirty laps. Welch leads the national standings and hopes to bring the national title back to Concord Speedway. Adam broke the record with his pole time which was held by Kyle Beattie. Should Beattie return and see if he can top teammate Adam’s record?? We shall see…
Kyle took another team of Legend cars up to the re-opening of Wall Stadium in New Jersey. After racing Friday night in Mayodan, Beattie and hauler driver, Brooks Rush drove all through the night to make it to Jersey. Beattie joined four customer cars for the race on Saturday; Zack and Trevor Alspach, Mike Lester, and Roger Cross. By the end of the heat races all five were fast and in the top 10. Kyle walked away with his heat race. In the feature, the boys stacked the top of the field, with Cross on pole and Beattie outside pole. Going into turn one of the first lap, Beattie took the lead and never looked back. Cross had a strong finish in second followed by Lester in fourth, Zack fifth, and Trevor sixth.
Beattie made it home to have a car at Concord ¼ mile, but was cancelled due to rain in the area. Brandon McKenzie would have run on Sunday. McKenzie holds third in points at the speedway.
Rain Becomes Sunshine this weekend
With clouds and rain running through the east coast, Beattie came out to play with the Pro Legends at Lanier also. Starting last in his heat race, Kyle finished in the top five. During the 20 lap race Beattie worked his way up to third pushing Pierce and Ross. On the last lap Pierce challenge Ross and gave up his second spot as Kyle slid under him in turn 3. Terry Horak came out strong in his #28 Late Model. Horak qualified 32 out of 34 and pulled off an amazing 14th. Terry’s goal was to get more seat time only being in his Late Model a handful of times. With cautions after cautions Horak became stronger learning how to dodge the wrecks and cars. By the end of the season we can’t wait to see Terry’s progress!

Remembering Steve
|
Steve came to Kyle Beattie Racing around three years ago with Jesse Bunnell. As our relationship grew on and off the track, Steve and Kathy quickly became family members. Steve always gave his all racing his ABS Masters #96 machine along with his ABS Thunder Car #96 machine. Not only did Steve race, but he also gave full rides to Jesse and Kyle, something that no one else was willing to give these two extraordinary drivers. Jesse and Kyle both run the ABS Pro Legends Division. Jesse brought home the 2007 KOTO championship for ABS Thunder Car, making Steve the proud owner of a Champion. Jesse also runs the ABS Street Stock at Concord. Kyle had the privilege of running the ABS Late Model at Concord. No matter if Steve was racing or watching Jesse and Kyle run, he was truly happy. Steve will certainly be missed by his big smile, and the way he giggled when he was happy with his car and the way he ran. I know I am going to miss his big bear hugs I got every time I saw him. Everyone has special thoughts and moments that they shared with Steve that make them smile. Through this hard time we all must remember the great times we had with Steve on and off the track. Not only did Steve enjoy racing, but also spending time with his two dogs, Gracie and Fannie Mae, and his cat, Freddy Mac. Kathy would like to see memorials be made in Steve’s name to the Union County Humane Society. We would also like to thank the racing community for standing behind us through everything. In the last couple days, everyone has rallied around KBR to help. Dan and Tim Snyder made special In Memory decals for all the cars. Adam Welch won his Thunder Car race at There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday at 3:00pm at Gordon’s Funeral Chapel. Orlando Friday & Saturday
Chris Young started off Friday under the Beattie Banner with a win in Chargers. He held off Chrissy Wallace for the win. Why was Wallace even in Chargers, after running Pro for the last two years, no one knows. Adam Welch followed Chris’s win with his own in the Thunder Car. Veteran driver took the lead mid way and led the rest of the race. Zack Alspach had a great race leading half the race. Soon Alspach had an incident with two other cars coming off turn two. He was unable to finish the race.
Mike Lester come out of Saturday with a top three, and also came away with a third place overall for the week. Welch also brought back another win for Beattie Racing in the Thunder Car. Beattie, himself took third and an overall 5th. Cody Humphreys had a good run on Saturday with a 4th. Macy Causey also came home with two 2nds on Friday and Saturday in her second and third ever Bando races.
